    This idea has been cooking for a few years, but life got in the way, go figure.

    My life has always about food, since I was a kid, I would see my mom spend hours cooking for some dinner. Meticulously choosing what to cook, checking the quality of the products and finally she was always skillfull at knowing who she was cooking for, knowing exactly what her guests liked. This is the home I grew up in.

    So, it was only natural that after seeing this, my take on food and life is cooking as a sign of love and happiness, it’s about giving to others.

    Comilona literaly means feast or spread in Spanish. I chose this name because to me the best gathering of people is around a table getting ready to eat, whether it’s to spend time with your family or have a business lunch. So much can be shared across a table of food, and that to me is bliss.

    From Quito, to the world

    This blog will talk about different takes on food in my city. The section on MUSTS in Quito, will tell you what restaurants (big or small), I feel are places you can’t miss out on. On the Road is a segment about my travels abroad with my hubby and what we get to eat. Also, this segment in particular is going have some great articles from friends who live abroad and are heartfelt foodies who want to share their experiences. Markets is all about markets within Ecuador. I have always felt that a market is a true reflection of what people are about the colors, noise, smells… everything. And finally, my segment on Recipes, which is my take on cooking and sharing my little secrets from my travels and my life.
